INFORMATION TO ALL ASPIRANT SIKH CANDIDATES WHO WISH TO APPEAR IN IAS AND IF THEY NEED FINANCIAL/COACHING HELP. PLEASE READ IT; Dear Sr Nanak Singh Nisterji/All others While ur concern is well known,i may like to add that there has been noTurban Sikh in Central Services-IAS after 1996.This is a great cause of concern for our community. As a well wisher,i may like to mention some of the efforts being made byVolunteer groups,Institutions&University as under:- a. Gurmat Parchar Trust, Kalini Colony, New Delhi- Has been offering fullfee scholarship to needy& financially weak candidate for the pastover 2yrs. Unforunately response fm potential candidates is very poor till date. Wecould only locate one girl fm amritsar who showned keen interest& financial aid of Rs 27000/ towards first installment of fee was sent to herInstitution direct last year. b.DSGMC- Has started coaching classes for IAS&NDA etc. last yr. I understand there is no worthwhile progress in motivating&locating rightcandidates so far. c. Punjabi university- With the dedicated efforts being put in by this university under leadership of most able VC,Sr Jaspal Singh, i see some positive results in the near future. Let us wait& see. d. Sr Gurjot SinghIAS (Retd) &Sikh Confederation- Have too initatied this program a couple of yr back.But success/progress appears to benominal. e. Dashmesh Free Coaching Centre,Sector 5,R K Puram,New Delhi-Started by 4 volunteers namely Dr Harmeet Singh Rihan & others,has been able to somecandidates& 5 have appeared in May,13 Prem UPSC Exam. Let us hope how manycross first leg,for next step,which shall require hard dedicated& intensive efforts& support.quite tough exam. Well this is what i know being involved in msome of these programs at Delhi. I am ,however available for under any responsibility in furtherance of our common mission& cause in this field so that we r able to make some dent in making Sikh youth choose/enter Central services. I feel ,we may request& involve persons like Dr Rajwant Singh USA& Sr Jatinder Pal Singh Uppal of Australia, who r involved in Education projects in India in a big way for expediting this very important aspect in bringingabout desired change in the mind set of our youth.
