INGWE FAN FEST 2013 AFC Leopards Fans and supporters are set for the second edition of the Ingwe Fan Fest that will be held this Sunday the 16th of June at the Nairobi Railway Club grounds from 7 a.m. The Event that is open to attend for all fans and friends of AFC Leopards will be hosted by CLAWS Trust in Partnership with our club sponsors Mumias Sugar Company through their Sprinkles Water brand has enlisted participation of 11 Leopards branches and 5 invitational teams. All team leaders/representatives from various participating branches and organizations are required to attend a briefing session at the Nairobi Railway club grounds tomorrow (Saturday the 15th of June from 3.30PM) Below are rules that will govern various competition activities at the event. The rules apply for both female and male teams. The 7 aside football tournament whose draw is set to be done today from 7 pm will be among the main activities of the event. 7-a-side Football Tournament Rules 1. The tournament will be played in groups with each team playing each other on a round-robin basis. 2. 3 points will be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw. 3. In the event teams are tied on points goal difference will be taken into account. 4. Two top teams in each Groups will proceed to the knockout stages. 5. 14 minutes per game: 2 equal periods of 7 minutes each & no half time interval. 6. Each team will field 7 players (at least 5 on the pitch) and have a maximum of 12 players in their squad. 7. Normal rules of football apply except that a) There are no offsides. b) Players are allowed to pass back to their keeper. c) If the Goalkeeper makes a save and collects the ball in their hands they cannot kick the ball directly out of their hands d) If the GK kicks the ball out of their hands, an in-direct free kick is to be awarded to the opposition where the ball lands 8. Substitutions are unlimited but must be made when play is stopped and only with the Referees consent. 9. A player who receives a yellow card must leave the field of play for 5 minutes 10. A player who receives two yellow cards in one game must leave the field of play for the entire game 11. A player who receives a straight red card must leave the field of play immediately and for the entire game & misses next match. Additional sanctions may be applied if the expulsion is a result of misbehavior. 12. If a player is given a red card whilst off the field of play (for unacceptable conduct on the sideline), the team must correspondingly reduce the number of players on the field. 13. Un-gentlemanly conduct will lead to immediate disqualification – Referee’s decision is final. 14. Should a knock-out match be drawn at full time then a penalty shootout will take place to determine the winner, each team taking 3 penalties. Tournament points awarding format (For branches and teams) Football Points will be awarded cumulatively; The top team in each pool will earn their branch 5 points, the second team 4 points, the third team 3 points, and the fourth team 2 points. Should there be a fifth team in any pool then they will earn their branch 1 point for finishing fifth. Qualification to the semi final stage will earn branches extra 6 points while qualifying to the finals will earn branches 7 points. Winning the finals will earn your branch 10 points and a trophy. For the other events Participants are supposed to adhere to the rules of each event as instructed by the ampere. There will be no changing of participants in the middle of the event. The participant whose name appears on the list that will be submitted by his/her branch or team will be the only one allowed to participate. Points will be awarded in a cumulative format based on the level of competition and position. Eg. Participating in the hundred meters dash requires two participants(male and Female) from each branch. Participating in the heats earn your branch one point from each participant. In the finals, the first, second, third and fourth participants will earn 10, 8, 6 and 4 points respectively while the rest will each earn 2 points. This point awarding format for the finals will also be used for the events with no heats. The tag of war will be played in a knock-out format with every participating team earning 2 points in the first round, 3 in the second round …. And 10 in the finals. The winners will earn a 5 points bonus. Branches/Organizations will be ranked based on the total number of points their members/teams earn in the events of the day. Arbitration Arbitration in any of the events will be handled by an Arbitrations committee that will be formed on Saturday evening during the briefing with various team leaders.
