INHERITED SIN This is the doctrine that is common in approximately 99% of Christians and it is a controversial doctrine that is receiving a lot of challenges and many claim that this doctrine has produced more atheists and Muslims who have stood against it thereafter because they think that God is unfair. Is this true? There are two opposing views for the doctrine which are: 1. We inherit sin from Adam 2. We do not inherit sin from Adam The first one is extremely stronger than the second and it is very rare to find people teaching about the second doctrine. We were initially made in the image and nature of God but through Adam’s fall mankind became corrupt in nature. Adam produced children after his kind, after the fall inclined to sin. Death reigned in all flesh through Adam’s flesh due to the corruption and inheritance of the sinful nature. Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Gen 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Nevertheless, when we are born again we partake of the divine nature of God to overcome the sinful nature that we inherited from our parents. 2Pe_1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. THE LORD YAHSHUA TOOK ON THE SINFUL NATURE OF OUR FLESH FROM THE SEED OF ABRAHAM Gen 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. 1. We inherit sin from Adam It is taught that all people are born sinners and that all babies are born sinners, that babies that die as babies may not be saved but will be thrown into hell fire; some have started changing the version and say that even though babies are born sinners they shall be saved by grace. SCRIPTURES Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom_5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Rom_5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adams transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Psa 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Psa 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Psa 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psa 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Psa 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. QUESTIONS 1.1 Will babies that die as babies go to hell fire since they are born sinners? Is this justice? 1.2 Are we going to be judged for sin Adam committed or for our sins or for both? 1.3 If babies are born with sin, was Jesus born a sinner since He may have inherited Adam’s sin through Mary? 1.4 If YaHshua was born a sinner then He was disqualified as a holy Lamb of God to die for our sins. Is this so? 1.5 Doesn’t this doctrine destroy the foundation of faith like the Messiyah being our sacrifice and His crucifixion to death for our sins? 1.6 If babies are unholy/sinners does it mean that sinners shall inherit the Kingdom of God because YaHshua said children belong to the Kingdom of God? 1.7 Do babies for short of the glory of God? 1.8 Do we repent of our own deeds or the deeds of Adam too in order to be forgiven? (Rev_16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.) 1.9 Do we have to baptise babies or confess for their sins in order for them to be forgiven? 1.10 Are we going to be judged for Adam’s sin? 2. We do not inherit sin from Adam This teaching indicates that on the coming judgement day each one will be judged for their own sins that they committed and not for sins of Adam nor sins of their fathers. They only inherit the sinful nature from Adam through their parents’ flesh. Our nature is shapen in iniquity in our mothers’ womb. All babies are not born with sin but holy only with a sinful nature that has got an inclination to sin. YaHshua and John the Baptist were holy in their mothers’ wombs and were born holy through both had inherited similar flesh with sinful nature with similar fleshly desires. SCRIPTURES 1Pe_2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1Jn_3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Eph_2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Deu 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. 2Ch 25:4 But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin. Jer 31:29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the childrens teeth are set on edge. Jer 31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Eze 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Eze 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 1Jn_3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1Jn_3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1Jn_3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Jud_1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Rev_16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. QUESTIONS 2.1 Don’t the scriptures say, All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God? Doesn’t this include babies, unborn and born? 2.2 Don’t the scriptures say that Isaiah was conceived in sin in his mother’s womb? 2.3 How is Adam’s sin transferred to mankind, isn’t it through the flesh? 2.4 How did Adam’s sin affect mankind spiritually and physically? 2.5 Don’t the scriptures say, there is none under heaven that does good? Doesn’t this include babies, born and unborn? 2.6 When we ask for forgiveness from God, do we ask for forgiveness for our deeds or for our deeds and deeds of Adam in order to be forgiven? LET’S FIND OUT IF IT IS THE FOLLOWING WE INHERIT FROM ADAM: 1. SIN AND SINFUL NATURE 2. SINFUL NATURE ONLY WHICH IS INCLINED TO MAKING US SIN ALL THE TIME (NOT SIN FOR WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO OUR OWN SINS)
