In his National Day Message some weeks ago, Lee Hsien Loong said our senior citizens need to be assured that they can retire happily after a lifetime of hard work. And then look at the suggestions below from Mr Lee. This of course only applies to those who own flats. In the end, it simply and basically means that the government wants you to live off your flat, and its proceeds, and it provides you means and ways to do so. Your flat, which you may have struggled decades to pay for, is no longer a home. It is a thing - a thing which you sell to survive. Ultimately, you may end up with nothing, after a lifetime of hard work. Mr Lee then ended his speech by urging everyone to work together to create a better future for all Singaporeans. Blah blah.
