INS&OUTS: Express edition. A New Japanese restaurant, Minamishima, is opening at 4 Lord St, at the back of Clover & Rye (formerly Olmecs). If youre trying to picture it, it backs on to Cubo development. Think its part of the Cirque development where they have been trying to lease three commercial properties for ages. One of our Friends spotted it. We cant tell you much more. Tues to Sat, 6pm to 10pm. A website is on the way. minimishima.au AFTER being empty for seemingly ever, the property at the corner of Charles & Swan, next to Swan St Bakery & Patisserie, has been let. We thought, with its expansive wrap around verandah, it would make a great eatery. However, were hearing an accountancy firm is moving in. But we wont be putting any money on it. FURTHER along Swan & Black Rice Interiors has shifted across the road to the old Carbon Copy Shirts, btw Coppin & Mary. That whole site up from KFC is the subject of a big development application. BEYOND Timber is moving from Swan St to Barkly Avenue. Make a Wishs Swan St site is on the market. We hear they are headed to a Church St address. OVER to Burnley St - where we havent been for a while - & we noted a few changes. The former Aero building has been sold. The building, the birthplace of Dame Nellie Melba, was on the market for around $4m. It appears to have a permanent tenant in Dream Drives which hires out prestigious vehicles. UP the street & Mr Charlies Bakery Cafe has been rebadged Nourish Me. OVER in Church St & finishing touches are underway for the Not The Corner Shop Cafe near Lincoln St. Nearby, we understand the Melbourne Clinic is undergoing a redevelopment. OVER in Bridge Rd, & Lumberjacks courtyard is having a revamp. BOHEME at the corner of Coppin St is again pushing for 2am opening which is irking neighbours. THE site of the former Hubcap/Scarletts Lounge, near Burnley & Bridge Rd corner is on the market. It comes complete with approved plans for apartments & cafe. ANYONE kow where Amuk Clothing is relocating? Short & sweet this week. There are oodles of planning applications floating around. Trying to decipher them as they are complicated if youre not a planner & some appear to be deliberately evasive! Stay tuned for a wrap of Bridge Rd developments.
