INSPIRATION (Giving direction to your day) Friday 11th July, 2014 PRISON TO PALACE Text: “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.” Gen 41:14 At the beginning of this month we stated clearly that one central theme of the bible is the story of changed lives. These accounts in the bible is a prototype of what is possible in our lives and what God is more than willing to accomplish in our lives. Beyond the stories in the bible we can also experience a remarkable change in our lives. The prison is a place of confinement. It’s a place where a man’s dreams and aspirations are put on hold. It’s a place of shame that devalues human dignity. There is no human being in his or her right mind that will make prison a place of choice to be. This was the state that Joseph found himself. He was condemned as a criminal in the prison. From the social point of view he was already disqualified for any serious placement in life. As terrible as his condition was it did not hinder what God wanted to do with his life. The prison did not cancel God’s promises on his life. Beyond the “prisons” of life are God’s plans and promises for our lives. The present state of your life cannot cancel the possibilities of your tomorrow. The palace is a place of freedom, dominion and authority. By supernatural intervention the King had a dream that nobody could interpret, Joseph was called and he did the job and also gave the solution. He moved from a negative condition of life to the centre of God’s program for his life. The change was so obvious for everyone to see. In the palace the glory of God came on him and every issue of his life were sorted out. I see the same thing happening for you in Jesus name. CONFESSION: The challenges of life did not cancel God’s promises and programs for my life. I am moving to the centre of God’s purpose for my life. LEARN MORE: Ps 46:1-11
