INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT OHIO, WOOD COUNTY & PEMBERVILLE TRUCKS! TRUCKS! TRUCKS! Are you amazed at how many trucks (semi not pickup)you encounter whenever you go somewhere? Here are some numbers that may justify what you think about competing with trucks on the highway. All of I-75 and the Turnpike east of Exit 71 (T-5) carry at least 10,001 trucks per day. In fact, the sections of I-75 east of the I-475 split in Toledo to Stickney Ave. and the section of I-75 from the I-280 merger north to the Ohio-Michigan state line carry over 15,000 trucks per day. Even on a slow day, all of the Interstate roads in our area carry at least 5,000 trucks per day. Another development that impacts trucking is the States naming of heavy load highways to compete with Indiana, who allows truck load weights to exceed 80,000 lbs. (the Ohio limit) for certain basic products including agricultural. In our area, only a few roads in Lucas County are designated for heavy loads, mainly to get products to shipping docks on the Maumee. Heavy loads are not permitted outside of Toledo in our area. Which are the busiest Turnpike exits for trucks?
