INTERNAL JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT UAP Group is a pan-African Financial Services Group with interest in Insurance, Investment Management, Property Investments, Property Development, Securities Brokerage and Financial Advisory. In order to execute its ambitious growth and expansion strategy, UAP wishes to recruit high caliber individuals to fill the following positions to meet various business needs in its Kenyan based entities: 1. BRANCH MANAGERS – MERU & EMBU Job Purpose: Reporting to the Manager Branch Business, the position holder takes charge of the branch operations and ensures achievement of set business targets both in new business and renewals. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or related discipline, progress towards ACII qualification, 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing in an insurance industry will be an added advantage. 2. PROJECT MANAGER – UAP INSURANCE KENYA Job Purpose: Reporting to the Strategy and Innovation Manager, the position holder will provide leadership and management of company-wide and cross-functional initiatives including launching of innovation initiatives, launching of new products and services, operational efficiency improvements and establishment of alternative channels of distribution. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Accounting/ Project Management or an equivalent; progress towards project management certification (PMP, Prince 2); 3 - 5 years’ of demonstrated project management execution as well as experience in application of reengineering methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Experience in the Financial Services sector will be an added advantage. 3. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - AGRICULTURE Job Purpose: Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the position holder will provide leadership in the growth of Agriculture Insurance with special focus on Multi-Peril product development initiatives, business prospecting and acquisition, risk assessment and determination of terms for agricultural risks presented within the set underwriting standards and reinsurance requirements. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management/Business Management & 5 years working experience in an insurance industry would be an added advantage. 4. CREDIT CONTROL MANAGER Job Purpose: Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager, the position holder will be responsible for all aspects of credit control in accordance with the UAP Insurance Company Policy. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business, CPA(K) or ACCA qualification, basic knowledge of data mining software (ACL, IDEA, BI360, Advanced MS Excel) plus 3 years’ experience in a similar position. 5. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT Job Purpose: Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager, the job holder will be responsible for all operational level accounting functions, monthly management accounts reporting, budget planning and monitoring. The person will also advise on projects in the organization from a management accounting perspective. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business, CPA(K)or ACCA qualification, basic knowledge of data mining software (ACL, IDEA, BI360, Advanced MS Excel) plus 3 years’ experience in a similar position. 6. REINSURANCE ACCOUNTANT Job Purpose: Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager, the job holder will ensure that reinsurance accounts are accurately computed and maintained in accordance with treaty or facultative agreements to facilitate timely settlements. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business, CPA(K)or ACCA qualification, basic knowledge of data mining software (ACL, IDEA, BI360, MS Excel), knowledge of Reinsurance principles and practices and 3 years’ experience in a similar position. 7. INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDITOR Job Purpose: Reporting to the Group Internal Audit Manager, the Information Systems Auditor will facilitate provision of independent reviews of the internal system within the Group ICT environment. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, Certification in CISA or CISM, 3 – 4 years’ experience in information systems auditing, knowledge of IIA professional auditing standards and information security control frameworks and principles, knowledge of information security concepts, controls and applicable rules and regulations. 8. INTERNAL AUDIT - FORENSIC OFFICER Job Purpose: Reporting to the Group Risk and Compliance Manager, the position holder will plan, coordinate and execute internal audits and conduct independent appraisals on the effectiveness of policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance, prevent and detect fraud. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, professional qualification and certification in CFE and CISA, 5 years’ experience in internal audit including 1 year in a forensic role. 9. NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER Job Purpose: Reporting to the Group ICT Infrastructure and Support Manager, the holder of this position will design, implement, manage and support Local Area Network, Wide Area Network and Unified Communication. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology, Professional qualification in Network Engineering (CCNP/CCNP Voice/CCDP certification, Data center networks, EGP & IGP, EIGRP & BGP), 3 years’ experience in network engineering & implementation of unified communication networks plus an additional 2 years’ extensive exposure on data center networks & technologies, additional knowledge on network security features & MPLS, VPNs technologies would be an added advantage. 10. INFORMATION CALL CENTER AGENTS Job Purpose: Reporting to the Information Centre Manager, the Information Call Center Agent will answer incoming calls from customers, handle complaints, troubleshoot problems and provide information. Qualification: A Business related degree, at least one year insurance experience, progress in Professional qualification in insurance e.g. ACII, COP preferred, knowledge of customer service principles and practices and knowledge of call center telephony and technology. 11. UNDERWRITERS - GENERAL INSURANCE To be based in our branches; Head-Office, Westlands, Buruburu, Queensway, Nyeri, Nakuru and Machakos. Job Purpose: Reporting to the Underwriting Manager the position holder will assess, price and determine terms for risks presented within set standards of service to ensure quality selection of risks and timely service to customers. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field & progress towards ACII qualifications, 4 years working experience in the insurance industry. 12. ASSISTANT UNDERWRITERS - GENERAL INSURANCE To be based in our branches; Kikuyu, Queensway, Kitengela, Rongai, Mombasa, Kisii, Kisumu, Machakos. Job Purpose: Reporting to the respective Branch Manager, the holder of this position will assess risk within limited authority and handle customer issues to ensure quality risk selection and timely customer service delivery. Qualifications: A Bachelors’ degree and entry level ACII. 13. ENGINEERING UNDERWRITERS – GENERAL INSURANCE Job Purpose: Reporting to the Underwriting Manager the position holder will assess, price and determine terms for risks presented within set standards of service so as to ensure quality selection of risks and timely customer service. Qualification: An Engineering degree, progress towards ACII qualifications and working experience in the insurance industry will be an added advantage. 14. BANCASSURANCE RELATIONSHIP OFFICERS Job Purpose: Reporting to the Bancassurance Manager, the position holder’s responsibility is to generate insurance business growth from the banking sector and to coordinate with the bank managers and relationship officers in generating valid insurance business leads. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree & progress towards ACII qualifications, 2 years’ working experience in the insurance industry. 15. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - KILIMO SALAMA Job Purpose: Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, the position holder will follow up on business development initiatives, business acquisition, risk assessment and determination of terms for agricultural risks presented within the set standards of service to ensure quality and timely service delivery. Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management/Business Management & 5 years’ working experience in the insurance industry would be an added advantage. 16. MEDICAL CLAIMS ANALYSTS Job Purpose: Reporting to Medical Claims Manager, the Claims Analyst will process medical claims with a focus on control and management of member benefits through vetting and coding of inpatient and outpatient bills. Qualification: A Bachelors’ degree or diploma in Nursing and a Diploma in Insurance/ Certificate of Proficiency (COP), 2 years’ experience in both a clinical and an insurance setting. 17. CASE MANAGEMENT NURSES Job Purpose: Reporting to the Case Management Supervisor, this position is to control and manage medical benefit utilization through pre-authorization and case management activities to ensure quality, appropriate cost effective care and good customer service to clients. Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Nursing/ Health Systems Management/Business Management, Diploma in Insurance/ COP, 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting and 2 years in an insurance set up.
