INTERNATIONAL ROUNDUP Nicklas Helenius won the battle of the Villa stars but even his night ended in frustration. Heleniuss Denmark beat Malta 6-0, meaning they finished ahead of Libor Kozaks Czech Republic and Aleksandar Tonevs Bulgaria in Europe Group B. But as the runners-up with the fewest points, they missed out on the play-offs for Brazil. Instead, Croatia, Sweden, Romania, Iceland, Portugal, Greece, Ukraine and France went through to the two- leg knockout competition, with four places up for grabs. Helenius was an unused sub as the Danes won in Copenhagen. In the other game in Group B, Kozak played 90 minutes as his Czech Republic team defeated Tonevs Bulgaria 1-0 in Sofia. Tonev was an unused sub as Borek Dockal scored the only goal. Christian Benteke was an unused sub as Belgium drew 1-1 with Wales in Brussels. Alan Hutton played 90 minutes as Scotland beat Croatia 2-0 in Glasgow. Andreas Weimann remained on the bench as Austria beat Faroe Islands 3-0 in Torshavn. Ciaran Clark was also an unused sub as Republic of Ireland beat Kazakhstan 3-1 in Dublin. Former Villa loanee Robbie Keane, John OShea and a Dmitriy Shomko own-goal earned the win. Both Austria and Republic of Ireland failed to qualify from Group C, which was won comfortably by Germany. Ron Vlaar wasnt involved as Netherlands beat Turkey 2-0 in Istanbul, Arjen Robben and Wesley Schneider with the goals. Netherlands had already qualified for the World Cup as winners of Group D. Brad Guzans USA face Panama in Panama City in the early hours of the morning, kick-off 2.30am. USA have already made it through to Brazil. So basically none of them did much. ALL RARING TO GO ON SUNDAY THEN.UTV!!! Zvonmir
