INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE CGL 2013 Hello Readers, This is a interview experience from Mumbai Candidate in his own words , no editions have been made , please ignore the Format and spelling mistakes with grammar errors. Venue :- Mumbai(WR) Time :- 9 am Board 2... My turn came around 11:15... as clerical staff could not complete document verification formalities in time... caution:- 1.Nothing except you and your clothes are allowed in interview room...not even pen and your document folder are allowed... complete process is under surveillance.... 2. they are asking for supporting documments for everythniing... each extra curricular activity etc... if u are not able to produce... they ll cut it form your bio data... there were 3 members in the penal... including 1 lady member... i entered with their permission...greeted them and took the seat on their instruction... chairman:- 1. so purnendu where do you belong to... ? replied(my hometown in Rajasthan)... 2. he then asked about... have you been to jaipur ever... what is its other name... i replied... with pink city... 3.then why pink city? replied that king of jaipur painted it with pink colour to welcome queen of england... when they visited india... 4. then asked about the stones used in the construction of jaipurs buildings... i was little confused about it ... he gave me options... is it granite... ??? i said no... its not... its sand stone i guess...he smiled on it... 5. then he asked about a famous festival associated with jaipur... he was looking for Jaipur literary fest... and i gave the same answer... he then asked abt this years lit fest of jaipur... i explained a little about previous lit fest ( ban on salman rushdi and taslima nasrin for taking part) and acknowledged that i cud not follow much lit fest this year... then he asked another male member to take over the interview... he read for me that i have mentioned to study and forming opinion about different national and internation issues in hobbies ... i nodded in yes... then he started... 1. what are the 2 major problems faced by world today... my ans:- extremism and economic slowdown... and as they are strengthening each other... they are getting worse... was trying to elaborate it... he shot next ques... 2.what is cold war? replied... 3. what institutions developed in indian area during cold war... before i could answer.. he himself asked about BRICS and non alligned movement.... replied... than he asked about whether i have read indian history... i replied that mostly modern history... 4. with whose efforts sati system got abolished... replied... 5. who was the viceroy that time... replied... 6. when it got abolished by law... Couldnot answer... 7.what was the 1857? replied about it... saying that there is different opininon about nature of this revolt among historians... and blah blah... 8. enquired alittle about mangal pandey... 9.what were the diffrences between Gandhi and ambedkar... relpied that they had diffrences about retention/ abolition of caste system in hindu society... and elaborated.. 10. which pact happened bw them? replied .. poona pact... 11. what was it... replied.... 12. who else got seprate eloctorate... replied... enquired alittle about golmez confrence... 13... asked about dadabhai naurauji and others... and their approcah towards british raj.... and how they contribted... replied... 14.. asked about drain theory... initially i took it as brain drain... but then he corrected me ... he was asking abt drain theory of narauji... which i explained.... 15. do you see any link bw drain theory and present days make in india campaign? i replied in affirmative and elaborated that earlier it was centred and beneficial to Uk... now modi envisage similar strategy for india... being its center or beneficiary... 16.how do u see Make in india campaign? is it beneficiary for indian economy.... i praised the campagin ith some reservations ... including the point made by raghuram rajan... of Make for India and elaborated... 17. J and k issue... pakistan want to drag it into un... hotile behaviour of its people towards india... shud it remain with india... and shud states be given more power ... basically about center state relation and j nk issue... replied... now it was lady members turn... 1.which diode is used as voltage regulator in electronic circui and why...replied 2. what is zener breakdown?... replied 3.what is JFET and its type...replied.. 4. explain the diffrence bw diffrent type of JFET... could not answer this ... and took a excuse that i am out of touch of my graduation subjects since last 3 yrs... 5. what is active and passive componentes in a circuit.... give example...replied 6. what is modulation... why it is used... replied (1. anteena size 2. long distance transmission) 7. what is RF? its range...replied 8relation bw frequency and bandwidth ... replied... again it was chairmans turn.... he enquired me alittle about my extra curricular activities related to annual college fest and all... that whether i have done them??? then asked why i want to leave my present job in TCS... where i can draw more money... i explained ... then he allowed me to leave... ..................................................................................................................... finally its over for me.... board was cooperative... they are not grilling candidates... atleast here in WR... generally... they dont allow to elaborate completely... .before i could completely... they shot next question... other question asked to other candidates here.... 1. operation bluestar... 2. cloud computing. 3. diffrence between c++ and java... 4. tribes of andman nicobar... 5. ebola.. 6. boko haram and isis... 7. speech of narendra modi on 15 august... what he said? 8. morar ji desai... etc... one member of both board is perhaps having a list of questions of diffrent graduation topics... form which he/she asks... accordingly... plan your preparation and all the best...
