INTRO: Consisting of brothers “Honky Mane” and “10 Gallon” , the Black Gold Boyz are a transcendent rap group whose meteoric ascension to the top of the musical universe has them bordering on the status of a bona fide cultural phenomenon. While their current rise to fame might seem sudden, the full truth behind these prolific music moguls is actually an intriguing and fantastic story with long and deep roots reaching back through several tumultuous generations. Due to highly secretive origins, their tale is a unique one where fact and fiction often gets tangled like two opposed fishing lines casting for a single jumping bass in a barren mud hole… Naturally, such ambiguity has caused many questions to remain unanswered about these enigmatic cultural magnets. Some of these questions posed by their rapidly burgeoning and ravenously eager fan base demanded a resolution; So, ignoring the certain perils of such a risky proposition, and with blatant disregard for my own personal well-being, I sought to provide elusive answers to the inquisitive public in an attempt to satiate the overwhelming demand for information pertaining to these societal deities. Despite the ambiguity of their background, one thing is certain;thanks to a dynamic in-your-face flamboyant lyrical style, and a wardrobe that combines elements of Elvis, Michael Jackson, Liberace, and Mr.T, culminating into a blinding spectacle that I can only compare to what a Porter Wagoner, Marty Stuart, and Paul Wall trio at the Grand Ole Opry viewed under a disco ball through a kaleidoscope might look like, their sparkling 24kt gold explosion onto the current music scene is anything but ambiguous.
