INTRODUCING OUR NEW BOYS AT CLUB WESTIE 4 year old Koby & 6 year old Chubby, arrived today due to unfortunate circumstances where their owners had to surrender them (due to no fault of the boys). Having spent some time with these boys, I know that it wouldnt have been easy to say goodbye. They are absolute darlings. Straight to Belmont Vet Centre for a check-up, vaccinations & worming. Both boys in good condition. Chubby has a little yeast infection in between his front paws & Koby has a few random spots/sores on him, that could be insect/flea bites. He doesnt smell yeasty, but well monitor both of the boys skin & see what the full story is. Of course as a precaution, we will put them both on grain free diets. The only other thing that Dr Maria noticed, was Chubbys lower back being sore & his left knee in particular, was a bit gritty. However, Chubby was quite tense by this stage, Dr Maria wasnt able to ge a clear understanding of what was the true problem. It was decided to observe Chubby for the next few days, take some videos of him walking & see if there was anything else, that would indicate what might be the problem. As for now, these 2 little gentlemen are snuggled up in their x-large cosy crate & getting some much needed rest, from all the change & different experiences that theyve had today.
