INTRODUCING TERRY HOLDBROOKS as a speaker for the 2015 Conference!! Remember, registration with transportation ENDS TONIGHT. msawest.net/index.php/events/2015-conference Terry Colin Holdbrooks Jr. is a former Guantanamo Bay guard who was born and raised in Arizona. He attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts after graduating high school in 2001 and enlisted in the US Army in 2002. Terry was deployed to Guantánamo Bay detention camp in June 2003 where his work with the detainees led to him accepting Islam just six months into the job. During his time in Guantanamo he was inspired by the prisoners who clung to their faith despite the dreadful circumstances they had to face. He was inspired to read the Quran and found Islam. He has written a book entitled Traitor? which discusses his time in GTMO and what he saw and did. He is an advocate of closing GTMO and relinquishing the land back to Cuba. He is now working with the Muslim Legal Fund of America, a charity organization that defends the rights of Muslims in court, especially those who are unjustly tried. We are very blessed to have Br. Terry travel to UCLA for the conference, and look forward to the lessons he will share from his transformative story.
