INVOLUNTARY DRIFT INTO HOLIDAYS I had promised myself that, - TopicsExpress

INVOLUNTARY DRIFT INTO HOLIDAYS I had promised myself that, because of certain case and trial schedules that I would maximize my work time and not do such a slowdown as I normally do. I typically like to goof off throughout the Holidays, with lunches, dinners, nighttime fires in the pit, and visiting old friends. I pledged this year that I needed to slow down on some of the bar association functions, law firm parties, and even my general goof off time. Well it almost worked but I found that I slowly got sucked into Holiday mode. I shopped early so it would be out of the way but after trying to work on Monday morning I realized I was in full Holiday mode. I gave in to the mood and began the planning and the cooking. Yesterday I experimented with a fresh pumpkin pie. dont know how it turned out but the pumpkin pudding I made from the leftovers is great(according to a unanimous vote by the kids). Today I made two bean pies for dinner at my friends family tomorrow afternoon. Today, since I give my youngest two back to mom at noon tomorrow I am cooking a turkey dinner for the family for Christmas eve. And my daughter and my 11 year old are baking Christmas cookies today and decorating with buttercream frosting. Hopefully after all this celebrating I can shift right back into work mode and pick up quickly. I am heading out to the jail to visit a client on Friday early to snap myself back into action. Of course I am checking and commenting on facebook as everyone seems to be in the holiday spirit.
