IOM - VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Position title: Programme Assistant Duty station: Khartoum, Sudan Classification: Special, three months with possibility of extension Grade: G3 Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: October 25, 2014 Context: Under the overall supervision of Migration Movement and Management Programme Coordinator; and direct supervision from Senior Programme Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of Reintegration Assistance for the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Programme and the Repatriation Programme for Sudanese from neighbouring countries. In particular s/he will: 1. Assist in receiving and make initial interview to returnees’ eligible for Reintegration Assistance (based on each sending countries AVRR Framework) for further counselling by senior staff. 2. Assist in ensuring follow up and coordination of the supervisor’s email with relevant sending mission for approval of reintegration assistance, as well as in following up the progress of the reintegration process. 3. Support and assist in preparing the draft of business plan and monitoring report using the relevant format. 4. Assist in undertake prior assessment mission as well as monitoring and evaluation mission in Khartoum and other state where returnee reside or operating his/her reintegration activity 5. Support in the preparation of PR and filing of the relevant supporting documents related operational expense (i. e. copies of all communications and all movement related correspondences pertaining to movement) and the reintegration process correspondences properly per admin/finance rule. 6. Support in the generation and maintenance of AVRR individual files or the general AVRR program files. 7. Support and assist in the administration aspects for the Arrival, Transit /Onward Transportation Assistance (OTA) for the AVR, AVRR and Repatriation programme implementation. 8. Update excels /database master list of AVRR Reintegration Assistance. 9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Technical a) Excellent communication skills, negotiation and organizational skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports; b) good analytical skills; c) correctly frames migration and development programme issues within the regional, global, and political context; d) Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from different cultures and varied professional backgrounds and in stressful conditions; e) personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility and drive for results; f) excellent degree of computer skills required. Desirable Qualifications and Experience a) completed university degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Social Science and Political Science; Economics, Art, International Relations, or a related field; b) three years of relevant professional experience in project implementation and management in the field; preferably with experience in migration management; c) experience working with Governments, NGO , Educations Institutions, UN partners and other International Organizations Languages Thorough knowledge of English and Arabic How to apply: Applications should be submitted by 25 October.
