IOW, If we cannot exploit workers, then we cant stay in - TopicsExpress

IOW, If we cannot exploit workers, then we cant stay in business...and then EVERYONE is broke, and, essentially, loses. Sorry, but I dont really buy into that. I will concede that not every business owner is a greedster; however, there is no excuse for established, successful [predatorily-Capitalistic] places like Walmart, which have an infamous history of breezing into towns, claiming that they are doing those town a big favor by boosting the economy and attracting business, and then demanding all sorts of tax (and other) breaks for the privilege of hosting their business within their city limits. Meanwhile, workers who are happy to have ANY job still dont earn a living wage and rely on government welfare programs. Sadly, even some venerable, well-established businesses are going down-and-out (such as Sears and K-Mart). Its a fact of life that businesses fail every day. And its not just the small-town Mom-and-Pop places, but also those slick, venture-capital-funded Silicon Valley ventures. I say that if you have to exploit your employees in order to stay afloat, then there is a problem with your business plan. Anyway...if you want to click through and read the article, be sure to look at the masthead first, because it spells out the political atmosphere of the site in no uncertain terms:
