IP responders were busy late last night and early this morning on opposite ends of Highway 62. Last night patrons at Anglers grill heard the sounds of squealing tires and thought a bad wreck had occurred in the curves to the east. IP responders spent over an hour and a half walking the highway between Anglers and the Leatherwood bridge, searching with flashlights down into the ravine to see if there was any signs of an accident. Nothing was found. Early this morning, an east bound motorist took the curve at Hwy 62 and Wilderness Lane too fast for the wet roads, and skidded off of the south side of the highway. The vehicle struck a large tree, which kept it from going down into a steep ravine. Fortunately the driver escaped uninjured.
