IPPC 2 Day Morning Session By Rev Tom Amenkhienan Building strong congregations. Pastor has raised many children and any time we have a meeting i rather would sit and listen. The reason we organize people into a congregation: To nuture To equip in the life to live To render the service they are to render Except the Lord builds a house they labor in vain that build it. To build is To set up, found, construct, edify,equip, edify. 1Corint 3:6-11 KJV* %v 6% I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. %v 7% So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. %v 8% Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. %v 9% For we are labourers together with God: ye are Gods husbandry, ye are Gods building. %v 10% According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. %v 11% For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Churches are strong because their members are strong. We build strong churches by building strong brethren. THE SIZE OF THE CHURCH DOES NOT NECESSARILY INDICATE ITS SPIRITUAL STRENGTH. 1. Strong churches are spiritual because they live according or within the word of God. 2. Its fulfilling its divine vision. WITH WHAT DO WE BUILD? 1. The word of God. Impartation of divine knowledge. Act 20:28 KJV* Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Act 20:29 KJV* For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. WOLVES ARE PEOPLE WHO COME TO PERVERT AND OVERTHROW THE FAITH OF BRETHREN. 1Peter 5:2 KJV* Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; With teaching and prophecy we prophecy over them. We say they are what we want them to be. 2. FAITH: BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD CONCERNING THEIR LIVES. Pastors must see what God wants them to be, see them how God sees them, they may be broke now but address them the way God wants them to be. 3. Build a strong congregation through the Holy Ghost. Learn to follow his guidance. Pastor launched us into where the Holy Ghost wants us to be. He is the extraordinary strategist. The strategies are from the spirit. The PERSON, MINISTRY AND PERSON of the HOLY SPIRIT. One step from the spirit can put you several miles ahead. The congregation must be full of the Holy Spirit and must speak in tongues. 4. Through Prayer. Prayer builds patience within you. The Holy Spirit makes those needing counselling reconditioned. 5. Through giving. Giving here has to be giving outside offering and tithes. Tithes is his, offerings are your recognition of his deity. Your personal giving is what rubs of. As the shepheard is so is the flock. 6. Through Exemplary Leadership. We teach by precept and examples. 1Peter 5:3 KJV* Neither as being lords over Gods heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 7. Be Visionary: Raise them with purpose, dont rare them. Those born ofroyalty are raised to think royal blood flows them. A batallion of sheep led by a lion will defeat that of lions led by sheep. A strong congregation must be strong in the Lord, healthy mentally, physically and financially. THEY DONT THINK LOCALLY. They respond to the leading of the Spirit. A congregation that is strong in faith. Take advantage of this grace and fire them up.
