IS AMERICA SLOWLY BUT STEADILY CRAMBLING??? U.S. President Barack Obama has pledged "appropriate reforms" to guarantee greater oversight of the controversial and top-secret U.S. spying programs, amid growing public outrage over the programs. Some critics say Obama had to make public promises of reforms to appease the outrage. Obama said that Edward Snowden, the former NSA contractor who brought to light the extensive programs to public attention, is “not a patriot” calling the leaks “unlawful” and a “threat to national security.” Meanwhile, the Justice Department has released a newly created “memo” on the legal rationale for the NSA’s telephone surveillance program. The memo argues that literally every phone call made in the US is “relevant” to an ongoing investigation on terrorism. How effective do you think the reforms Mr. Obama announced will be? Overall, what do you think about the U.S. spying programs and what Edward Snowden did?
