IS IT WORTH IT?? As I walked through the halls of the Valley - TopicsExpress

IS IT WORTH IT?? As I walked through the halls of the Valley High School yesterday, getting stopped by many of My Boys and people that they were with asking who is that?, after they walked up and gave me a hug. Most of their responses were Our Mom, Our Football Mom. It brought tear to my eyes. See, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately... Is spending all this time not at home with my family and putting all of my time and my families time into football worth it? Since around April I have been there almost every day making sure My Boys have what they need or what the next step was to get us there. But where do I draw the line? Where do I put my own family? I Missed my sons first Senior year game while I worked the concession stand, only to see the over time play. Is this worth it? When everyone else is watching my seniors (2) and the rest of My Boys because no one else wanted work it? (7-12 grade parents and their families) And getting there at 6am and not leaving until 12:20am? Is this all worth it? Now, I do have to say there are a few football moms that come in and help out at the concession stand (3), one football mom and her husband that come before the game and help me set up and a couple show up before the game and help with 50/50, candy gram table until half time. Also I have a great friend that does not have a son on the team and is there with her and her family to help (7 month pregnant) And I am grateful for all of that help. But I am not the only parent who has a child on this team. I took on approx. 70 children this year to make a difference in their lives, to get them off the streets, to make sure they have the grades to play and that is what I am going to continue to do! See, My boys are so great! We have some parents that dont show up, some that yell from the stand about other players not such nice things or they just can not get along. But My Boys are ONE HEART ONE TEAM and you can see that. No matter what color, size or shape they are there for each other and that is such a great feeling of pride! So the Answer to the question is YES, it is so worth it! So, when you see me look crazy at a person when they should not be saying the things that they are saying, that is because that is my BOY! And when parents are not supportive or if they have to work they know that they have at least one person up in the stands that will be cheering for them no matter what! This lady right here...... THEIR FOOTBALL MOM!
