IS MESSI BLATTERS FAVORITE SON? People used to say Blatter likes Messi more than Ronaldo and maybe he had influence on several Ballon dor awards that Messi won over Ronaldo. However, after the three events below maybe people may thnk otherwise. 1) 2013 Ballon dor voting process was controversially extended, after Ronaldos heroics against Sweden. It tells me that at that point Ronaldo wasnt the winner and Messi likely was. Else why wud they extend? 2) Aftr guiding Argentina to world cup final with very crucial goals in group stage and set up di Maria in 2nd round Messi won golden ball. Immediately Blatter expressed his shock on tha decision. 3) Again after announcing nominees for 2014 Ballon dor award, Blatter reiteriated that it was a mistake to award golden ball to Messi. Looking back this year where Messi struggled with injuries, that world cup peformance was the only factor that would give him edge over Ronaldo, but Blatter has alrdy influenced voters not to consider it.
