IS THERE NOT YET ANY OF THE HOUSE OF SAUL? 2 Samuel 9: 1-13 This reading narrates a lovely story of how Mephibosheth rose from Grass to Grace,! I prophesy into your life, if you have not seen grace this year, you will see it before this year runs out; if you fell from grace, get ready to jump up. See how Mephibosheths life started: And Jonathan, Sauls son, had a son. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth. The tidings in that scripture were about the unfortunate incidence of death of both his father and grandfather in battle. At that time, he was at a tender age of five. As his nurse was carrying him into hiding for fear of his fathers enemies, he fell down and became lame. By human standards in the developing world, we can safely say that Mephibosheth had lost his future as a result of his fathers death and the accident put together! Double tragedy! Of course life became hard for him! From the story, we realize that he grew up without both parents in Lodebar (means, Pasture-less). Suddenly, the comfort of the was gone and he was forced by circumstances to live in a wilderness: a place with nothing good in it. Responsible persons were not found in Lodebar because it was neither good for pasture nor agriculture. It was a place of hardship and poverty! It was a place of violence and lawlessness; where the strong oppressed the weak; he must have survived here here by good will of a few good men. No one remembered him because his father was dead. Although his fathers servant (Ziba) knew where he was, he never cared; rather he sat down and usurped his (Mephibosheth) inheritance; marrying wives out of Mephibosheths inheritance; he had fifteen sons (excluding daughters) and twenty slaves to himself. You may be living in a city but in the village the rumour about you is that you are a mere beggar! Is your case as bad as that of Mophibosheth? Your story will change today. No matter how sad your case has been, beloved in Christ, get ready to celebrate in Jesus name. Amen
