IS THERE SCIENCE BEHIND THE 2003 NATIVE VEGETATION ACT OR IS IT BASED ON POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY, PART 1? Good question. The post below is the first of a series of posts by Mr Robert Vincin who is a prominent soil scientist who grows soil. The extract immediately below is from the June 2014 Adelaide Review and provides some insight to Robert’s prominence in the areas of science associated with Peter Spencer’s case. “Since 2005, Robert Vincin has been living in China as an invited foreign expert advising the Chinese government and industry in lowering mass volumes of CO2e, halting and reversing desertification, and reparation of water resources. This first post is a copy of a letter Mr Vincin has written to PM Tony Abbott “The Hon Tony Abbott Prime Minister of Australia Dear Tony Your efforts this past week advising your job is “to protect Australians” is much applauded. In this light Tony I write to advise the most noble undertaking to aid all Australians would be to save Farmers impacted by (a) severely flawed by the array of unscientific native vegetation and land management acts forcing Farmers Herders from their land to become welfare dependant or worse. Clearly in our breakfast meetings in Manly 1995-7 preparing script of Direct Action Green Corp (eg Adelaide Review June 95) to engage 150,000 unemployed to restore 200 million hectares of desert to grow, soil, soil-carbon, food for export. The COS advised me of an inability to understand how 150,000 people could be engaged in growing soil and therefore could not instruct you “what to do”. I repeat this today as federal government is grabbing lands from Farmer and Herders who have fought back against the ill conceived unscientific Native Vegetation Forestry et al acts that actually destroys land. Clearly a case and point is Peter Spencer of Cooma. Droughts and encroaching desertification are based upon progressive unscientific government/s decree of their “thought on land vegetation management”. You will note in the above web reference an insight to what other nation are achieving in growing soil, food, fodder and in time essential forestry that could have been your perpetual legacy to the historians of tomorrow. This brings me to (b). As an adviser to you and the Prime Minister I was also appointed by the UN under Secretary General to help write Kyoto Protocol. I highlighted by leading a science based body of scientists and financiers to PM Howard that, by signing the protocol Australia could for a fee become the CO2 sink to global emitter. This would have engage the many plant-out appropriate vegetation to sequester CO2, From 1998 to date Australia has steadfastly diluted this serious business opportunity by instructing her UN representative to separate the Nation for 167 nations committed to lowering anthropogenic CO2 and compounding poverty and deserts. Tony, confident my global credential established over decades advising Nations Governments I must add to my recent letter! Australia under your personal Stewardship is at the most critical cross road ever. China and China/Africa-Mongolia are grabbing mining and manufacturing. I have viewed such firsthand. Europe the financial hub and USA technology Nation so what’s left? I return to those Manly talks and advise I gave to PM Howard 1995-7. China, Africa, USA like Australia each has massive expanding deserts and poverty and remaining the prime heat reflectors and CO2 emissions. The world is running out of soil, food, fodder and clean air, the first to move to become the CO2 sink and food bowl takes all. Global CO2 emitting corporations want to show on their page 3 that they offset their emission responsibly. China has promised, land tenure to Farmers next year ensuring secure storage of CO2 into soil, lowering 8 billion tonnes CO2 annually meeting UNFCCC 100yr storage rule. Many African Nations are check out the documents to do the same. For 18 year Australian governments have imposed draconian unscientific laws and seizing Farmers land and water resulting in, compounding droughts and deserts and alas leading to suicides. The governments fails to comprehend the only assets of man and all living matter Soil-Water-Vegetation-Atmosphere and all (all) else but commodities! Being seen moving deck chairs today is not enough. Clearly this past week reflects the Australian people are discovering the nations has no master leadership plan, and, courts forced into make decisions on executing Farmers land titles based upon un scientific unjust government/s Laws. My fellow Australians are now reflecting; appointing people to become Members of Parliament to represent and their expectation is akin to, appointing Directors CEO Chairperson to administering a National (de-facto Global) Corporation demanding the most dedicated skills. I leave for continuing lecturing to Universities and field desert reversal 200 million hectares+ early next year and leave you with my many decades of hands on experience. The world under selfish advice from ill-informed, rotating Government representatives will retard the UN Kyoto body from reaching a decision at Rome 2015. A nation with a plan, far different to that modified by Prime Ministers since 1998 that stands and states; CO2 emission from anthropogenic deserts is like natural events of the past are reflecting heat back to upper atmosphere changing climates, but, Australia has a science / nature based plan to offset emissions. Such a leader will hold a place in history like the ancient Romans. Almost forgot, as I detailed to you back in 1997 under UNFCCC auditing verification laws and the confirmed by UN Ban Ki Moon 200 million hectares of secure CO2e sinks T.O. is $160-350 billion annually NPV. As I pointed out to you and the Treasurer a share of this turnover would set Australia up as a true world leader and feed a starving world seeking a home!
