IS VICTOR ETIM ANTAI PLOTTING THE ASSASSINATION OF SOME ORO POLITICIANS??? By Engr.Ita Awak I woke up early today to read a WhatsApp text from Victor Etim Antai. The message, sent 2:39 am 25th of December 2014, simply said: Merry Christmas. I found it curious! Curious because it is about 18 months now since Victor Antai, the Chairman of my native MBO LGA, and I drifted apart personally, socially and politically. From my point of view, I willfully parted ways with the young lad by way of expressing my total and vehement opposition to his whimpish sycophancy and slavish surrender to be whimsically used by Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio, the Annang man from Essien Udom, to wickedly rubbish our Oro ethnic group, criminally marginalise and neglect and completely emasculate us of any relevance in the politics of Akwa Ibom State. I couldnt imagine how a True Oro person can so shamelessly enslave himself just so that he may be privileged to be peripherally linked to the system now in vogue in Akwa Ibom State. I was considering giving Victor a cordial response in the spirit of the solstitial season when my attention was urgently called to an alarming article posted by one Okon Obribong Bisung on the Hope for Oro Nation platform on Facebook. In the article, Bisung alleged that there was a killer squad meeting at Mr. Victor Antais house in Uyo last night. He went on to say that the purpose of the meeting was to plan how they were to eliminate prominent Oro sons (and daughters) perceived by them to be strongly opposed to and who are determined to hinder them from delivering the block vote of the Oron Federal Constituency to the Udom - Akpabio ticket in the 2015 governorship elections. According to Bisung, those in attendance at the meeting were Victor Etim Antai, Nse Ekpenyong, Solomon Effiong, Godswill Ekpenyong (Wazobia) and some 5 unknown militants and/or assassins from Bayelsa State. Okon Bisung disclosed that the planned politically motivated assassinations of the targeted prominent Oro politicians will be staged as robbery attacks. Those that the purported meeting at Victor Antais residence pencilled down for elimination are Hon. Robinson Uwak, Barr. Asuquo Asuquo Okpo, Eyo Okon (Eyo Swang), Engr. Larry Esin, Engr. Ita Awak, Chief Efiong Johnson, Barr. Efiong Abia, Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong, Hon. Bassey Etienam and Victor Okpo. One is compelled to give serious attention to Okon O. Bisungs allegation because of the known character of the Godswill Obot Akpabios administration. Since Akwa Ibom State was created in 1987, it is only under the watch of PDP-Akpabioism that we have recorded the highest number of politically motivated assassinations and cold-blooded murder of perceived opponents of government. Since the current political campaigns began, we have recorded the callous butchering of Chief Albert Ukpanah and the attempted assassination of Chief Soni Udom, the Campaign Manager of Obong Umana Okon Umana. In further consideration of the fact that Mr. Okpo Ekere, Caretaker Chairman of MBO LGA, was gunned down in broad daylight by some persons closely related to Victor Etim Antai, and since Victor has demonstrated abundantly that he can engage in any form of depravity and absurdities in order to get the approval of his Slave Master, one cannot but treat Bisungs alarm with all the seriousness it deserves. It will appear to me that if it is true, as Bisung alleges, that Victor Antai is desperately plotting the assassination of selected Oro citizens so as to facilitate the imposition of Udom Emmanuel as the governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2015 and thereby continue with the unconscionable and inhuman marginalisation and pauperisation of the generality of the Oro people, he must be doing this at the behest of his Oga on top. But no matter the threat, we are determined in our resolve to bring emancipatory CHANGE to the destituted and short changed people of Akwa Ibom State. We are poised to install an all inclusive government that will not parochialise or self-aggrandise and wantonly plunder our common patrimony but a government that will create jobs for our unemployed but employable youths; a government that will be headed by a gifted, focused and humble technocrat with the steely will and determination to sensitively right the wrongs of the 8 years of the locusts and govern with love, compassion and respect for all the Akwa Ibom people. Without any apology or regret, we are forging ahead with Umana Okon Umana and the All Progressives Congress because under this platform, the Oro ethnic group will be given their rightful place in the leadership of our state government. No threats shall deter us! With Umana Okon Umana, Oro now has a Deputy Governorship candidate on the platform of APC. The Oro people from our 5 LGAs will dump the PDP and its Udom - Akpabio governorship ticket in the 2015 governorship elections. Heaven will NOT fall and NO HARM shall befall us. WE KNOW THE LAWS OF GOD WHICH ARE GOD!! AMEN-RA! AMEN-RA! ! AMEN-RA! !!
