ISB students meet host families from tricity July 08, 2013 08:37 PM Mohali, 8 July (kulbir kalsi): The Indian School of Business (ISB) launched the second edition of AIKYA, the unique host family network of the School, at the Mohali campus, where over 40 prominent families of the tricity region, met students from the Class of 2014. AIKYA, the host family network, is a unique way of bonding between the students, hailing from different parts of the country and the families from the Chandigarh region. It’s a home away from home for the students and an opportunity to enhance their network in the city’s corporate arena while discovering its resplendent cultural past. The members of the Aikya steering committee – Kesni Anand Arora, IAS, Deputy Director General, UIDAI; Komal Anand, Head mistress, Yadavindra public School; Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB and Karthik Hebsur, President of the Graduate Student Board (GSB), ISB, campus at Mohali lit the lamp. Also present were other steering committee members like Vivek Atray, IAS, Director IT, Haryana; Sanjit Paul, ISB alum and entrepreneur, among others. This was followed by a cultural extravaganza that lasted the evening. True to its literal meaning of ‘unity’, the launch event brought out the unity in diversity that India is representative of. Both students and spouses participated with enthusiasm and the guests commended their efforts. Started as an initiative to provide a ‘home away from home’ for students, at the ISB’s Hyderabad campus, the ‘Aikya’ programme at the ISB completed 10 years this year. The AIKYA network both at Hyderabad and Mohali campuses include eminent business leaders, senior executives and professionals from the private and the public sectors. The network provides the students opportunities to learn, interact and build long lasting professional and personal relationships. The programme was followed by dinner, where the students shared their aspirations and dreams with their ‘Aikya’ families, who in turn felt that their annual interaction with students enriches their own perspective, keeping it fresh and young!
