ISI Long Course Championships - ICE TEAM Notes: 1. Swimmers - TopicsExpress

ISI Long Course Championships - ICE TEAM Notes: 1. Swimmers racing in the preliminaries (ind. and relay events) should plan to be on the Univ. of Iowa pool deck by 7AM so we can get a seating area as a TEAM! 2. Meet information (including the Psych Sheet and timelines) is posted on the ISI website under the Events page. 3. Athletes should wear their current ICE t-shirts on Day 1 and Day 2 of the meet. We will have new t-shirts for this championship available on Day 3 of the meet. Swimmers will have $5 added to their meet fees to help cover the cost. 4. 13 & Overs - make sure you show up to the meet shaved and ready to swim fast with your technical suits with you! Unless you are going to Junior Nationals next week this is your big meet / competitive celebration for this season! 5. 13 & Overs are expected to show up for finals sessions each day. This includes warming up as well until you are done with all your events for the weekend. We need all of our TEAM members there to cheer each other on to good swims at night. 6. 12 & Under swimmers - make sure to check with Coach Lily before you leave the pool each day. We also need help from our younger swimmers to cheer each other (especially the relays) to swim fast as a TEAM this weekend! 7. Eat healthy, stay rested (and off your feet) when not at the pool, and go to bed early / take naps if needed until the competition is completed. Avoid doing anything extra in order to save your energy for racing. 8. Do not skip out on cool down between events at the end of the each session. This is an important part of the meet as it will help with recovery between events and keep you ready to race on the last day of the meet. 9. Practice good sportsmanship and race to the best of your abilities each day. Do not get into any trash talking and stay positive around your TEAM members. Sprinters - you will be needed to help as counters for our distance events. Parents - plan to help time (I will be pitching in a session or two as announcer for the 12 & Unders). Get ready to swim fast and have fun! GO ICE! DPS
