ISIS is a very serious threat to US national security. It is a greater threat than the Ebola virus, yet the Obama administration is putting up to 4,000 troops on the ground in Liberia to fight Ebola and less than 2,000 to fight ISIS. It makes no sense to me. We must destroy ISIS by killing them where they are. If we do not, we will be forced to build fortress America and try to stop them from coming here to do us harm. Is that really what we want to do? I think not. Please allow me to opine on several issues: 1) The bombs that are falling on the ISIS positions are largely ineffective with roughly 20% actually hitting meaningful targets. I got an email from Iraq that said that many of the targets that are hit are actually abandoned equipment or evacuated buildings. That is why the British flew bombers into Iraq but dropped no bombs. They say nothing worth bombing.Take the restrictions off our Green Berets and let them KILL these targets and put ISIS on the run. 2) The US cannot continue to arm and train muslim organizations without paying a price. Who are these people in the Free Syrian Army? No one is really sure. So why should we arm and train people who have already signed a non-agression agreement with ISIS? Their real enemy is Bashar al-Assad, not ISIS. This is dangerous and really jeopardizes the lives of christians. 3) ISIS should never be called ISIL. The Levant is a concept that does not recognize the state of Israel. The President uses it very deliberately, in my view because of his disdain for Israel but most Americans do not understand this nuance. I use ISIS because I do not want to contribute to this lack of recognition for Israel. 4) ISIS will not go into Baghdad because it risks provoking the Iranians into protecting their Shia brothers. ISIS does not want to do that. They will continue to threaten the city and perform a series of Head Fakes but they will not get bogged down in a street to street fight for the capital. They really want the Kurdish lands where the oil is. America must support the Kurds and push for a Kurdish homeland. More later!
