ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf is hopeful that he would soon be a free man to decide whether to stay in the country or go abroad. Talking to his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) lone member in the National Assembly, Prince Iftikharuddin from Chitral, Musharraf said that he hasn’t committed any sin and is therefore optimistic that he would get freedom shortly. The APML chief is detained in his farmhouse in the suburbs of the federal capital in Chak Shehzad area waiting for his bail and trial. Prince Iftikharuddin voted for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the contest for the slot of the leader of the House in the National Assembly on Wednesday last and felicitated Nawaz Sharif on his victory in the elections. He said that he voted for Nawaz Sharif on the instructions of Pervez Musharraf whom he has met twice in the last ten days. ‘My party chief asked me to vote for the ruling party so that I could get maximum assistance from the government for the betterment of my area which are extremely poor and backward. I wish the government pays special attention to the plight of my area,’ he said. He said that under the same principle the member of the KPK provincial assembly belonging to his party voted for Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) since it is the majority party in the province. He said on the national issues he would support the government if its actions and decisions were in the right direction.
