ISLAMIC CONCEPT OF A PERFECT GOD. Islam is the only religion which teaches the existence of a PERFECT GOD. A perfect God means that there is no sharer in His nature and his Attributes. God, who is the creator and controller of the entire universe. That perfect God is unique in every respect, and there is nothing which bears any likeness to Him. He is the knower of all things, and Has full power over the whole of creation. He does not stand in need of anything at all, while everything is totally dependent on Him. He possesses all the perfect qualities, and man should worship Him, and Him alone. The Noble Quran made it clear: “Say He is God the one and only, God the Eternal Absolute; He neither begets nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him”. --- Quran 112: 1-4. IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OTHER RELIGIONS AND ISLAMIC CONCEPT OF A DIVINE GOD? Yes, there are some important differences. Though, other religions also teach the existence of God, but Islam teaches the absolute ONENESS OF GOD, with whom no one can share in Divinity. No idol or heavenly object, nor any religious or spiritual teacher, can possess some DIVINE POWER OR ATTRIBUTE. Again, Islam teaches the highest conception of God, and does not accept any limitation to His power and knowledge, while other religions set limit to Him. For instance, Islam rejects the Hindu belief that God is not the creator of matter and souls but exits alongside them. Islam also rejects the Christian doctrine that God is unable to forgive sins unless He punishes someone else, and so He sent His “son” to suffer the punishment for the sins of all humanity. Moreover, a son is needed to take the place of the father when the father dies, and clearly this cannot apply where God is perfect. In other words, Christian doctrine has the father and son as divine beings. Does that mean the son will inherit the fathers throne when the father dies????? Islam refutes the idea that any human being, however great, was a ‘’manifestation” of God on earth. Or Divine incarnate. Man born of a woman should not be worshipped, man should not be a slave to anything on earth—such as Idols, Evil Spirits, Satanic Cult, Religious Leaders, Kings, Dictatorial System of Government, Heavenly Bodies, God’s Prophets etc. Almighty God with His Divine power, created man and place him on earth for a specific purpose meant to conquer the world around him, not to be afraid of it; and not to be allow himself being use by wicked, evil and deceptive humans who get satisfaction only through luring innocent people into their set traps. Each person on earth is meant to use his or her own intelligent and reason not to obey someone else blindly. Rejecting the belief that a person could be a “manifestation” of God, means that one should look upon the great founders of religions, NOT as ‘’gods’’ but as mortal human beings who by their own teachings and examples, only for people to emulate them. DISTINCTIVE FEATURE OF THE ISLAMIC CONCEPT OF GOD Islam teaches that Allah is “The Lord (RABB) of all the worlds”. Allah is therefore not just the God of the Muslims, nor the God of a particular race, religion or nation, but the only one God for the whole mankind. As the Lord of the whole nations, He did not provide his guidance for its progress; He is equally just and loving towards every sections of humanity and has NO favourite or chosen people, or even rejected people. The Noble Quran, 59:22-24Surat Al-Ĥashr (The Exile) - سورة الحشر 59:22 --- He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. 59:23 --- He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 59:24 --- He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him.
