ISRAEL: An opposition politician was forcibly removed from a fractious meeting of the Knesset finance committee on October 6. The committee was voting on the allocation of funds to a Hebron council for the repair of damages caused by disturbances during Operation Protective Edge. Opposition members, including Stav Shaffir, who was removed from the committee meeting, claimed that Hebron was receiving more funding that harder-hit councils in the south. According to the Jerusalem Post, committee chairman Nissan Slomiansky countered this claim, saying that towns in the south that had received less funding than the Hebron area were further from Gaza or in a higher socioeconomic bracket.
