IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL..........This means that we can hope forever that something is bound to happen - something good is bound to happen because we had hoped for this - like doing away with corruption permanently, or at least minimize it to tolerable levels. But this will never be so because corruption has become a way of life in our parts. Corruption is in the core of our daily living - it is the style of management most favored by the powers that be. There is not a single day in the past year ever since the Napoles scam was discovered that there is no talk about a scam in some government agencies happening or has happened. And it goes on till this day as we speak! And they are being uncovered almost all at the same time. It is crazy living here already. Scam after scam and investigations galore - but there is nothing coming out of these investigations. Knowing how the wheels of justice work in this country, we, in this generation would have left this world a while already and nothing would have been solved yet - no culprits would have been sent to a proper jail, and for the lucky ones, they will just be enjoying hospital or house arrests. Such is the fate of this country. I find no hope for real change. The reform they talk about is only for show. No one official or President has or will ever take reforms seriously because it is not good for his/ their health and wealth! Nothing works here. Only corruption does. And so, it will not be farfetched to think that everyone will soon be joining the bandwagon.
