AS FOR THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION, THESE BASTARDS HAVE TO PHASE OUT ENGLISH & REPLACED IT A LOCAL DIALECT WHICH IS HARDLY USED ELSEWHERE. WHAT A SHAME, RIGHT NOW, SACK THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION IMMEDIATELY FOR BEING INEPT & INCOMPETENT!!!!! QUOTE: It has been widely reported that our graduates cannot write a simple sentence with no mistakes. Don’t say our graduates; the majority of our teaching staff from lecturers right up to professors are not able to write English well. Education-wise, we are not moving in tandem with and on the same page as the world. It is extremely sad that we hold dearly to our nationalism but we are right at the bottom in practically every field, be it science, math or technology. We therefore cannot gain respect from the international community – instead, they will look down on us. It is pretty sure that the majority of the rakyat does not want this. Mediocrity can be practiced but must be stopped after a while because mediocrity breeds mediocrity. Meritocracy must quickly be adopted in order to bring out the best of our students. Not doing so is suicidal. In life, we should adopt the philosophy that it doesn’t matter who owns the good things so long that they are public domain, and we must endeavor to acquire them for our benefits. For example, the SI system which is used in weights and measurements belongs to France. Another example is the numerals which belong to the Arabs. We are using them. By the same logic, if we take English as being equally as important as our mother tongue, what is wrong with that? When the majority of world population is grasping it feverishly, why can’t we? It is not a sin or a shame. Therefore the Education System in the country must be drastically reformed. The following must be immediately done: 1. Reintroduction of English medium schools – starting from one primary and one secondary school in every city and town. All students are to sit for O- and A-level Cambridge Examinations. All students must pass Bahasa Melayu language for the award of certificates. 2. Meritocracy is strictly enforced at all levels and in every field of human endeavor. 3.
