IT TAKES GREAT COMMITMENT Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 1 Corinthians 9:26 We have the choice to pursue the dreams that God places within our hearts. But those dreams cannot be pursued lazily. They have to be pursued with great commitment and discipline. Commitment is a sign of inner character and the first step toward achievement. Without it, our dreams of greatness remain just that - dreams. Who wants great dreams that do not materialize? If the dream is great, it must become reality. We cannot live our lives by jumping from one quick fix to the other. We cannot turn our lives into merry-go-rounds which keep spinning and spinning without getting anywhere. For our dreams of greatness to become the living reality of our lives, we must do these things: Stay on course. When you find the path for your dreams, commit yourself to it. Commit yourself to the process and the hard work that is required for you to achieve what you are pursuing. Keep your eyes, heart and mind focused on the things that God has placed on your heart to achieve. • Avoid short-cuts. Anything that promises a quick-fix solution without any serious effort does not offer lasting promise. Dont go for it. Even if you feel desperate and your situation keeps getting worse, do not allow the temptation and attraction for easy solutions to divert your focus. • Pay the price. Everything worth achieving will cost you some-thing. It will cost you time, energy, knowledge, responsibility, excellence and integrity. These are demands that will be made on us.
