ITS A GOOD FRIDAY: DO NOT FROWN!!! ~dan Someone asked me: Bakit ka di naniniwala? Ive come to a decision that life is too short to worry too much about damnation or salvation; life is too precious to waste it on doing stuff based on religious doctrines; we owe so much to life and humanity that living it in fear of the (unknown) unproven is, for me, being ingrateful to all progress weve come about. . . . Then I was asked: Di mo kailangan ng proof, you just have to have faith! You just have to believe. Ayoko. I dont like faith. I looked back into my childhood and I remember so clearly that I always questioned stuff that are told to me. My parents said that my kuto will fly me to Mt. Mayon if I dont sleep in the afternoon. I never believed in it and I never had faith that it will happen. I respect my parents so I did sleep in the afternoon, tho. Faith is gullibility. Weve come so far that having faith in bronze-age books and old stories of magic is an insult to our human race. We became so intelligent that we made bulks of alluminum fly into the sky only for relgion to crash it into the Twin Tower. Weve become so human that slavery, mass murder, misogyny, and homophobia are almost things of the past (but are still taught in the bible and child molestation by priests is chronic news, btw) Weve become so wise that believing in this logic: I created you and everything and I love you but if you dont believe in me youll be sent to sea of fire. is almost so laughable! We have become better persons. We dont need him, her, or it to become moral individuals.We need to excercise empathy and need to become modern humans: (to be almost) free from prejudice and hate toward one another. Happy Friday to all! Someone might have beed crucified 2000 years ago but hey, he knew that hes gonna raise from the dead in the first place. So much for a sacrifice [sigh].
