ITS ALMOST TIME!!!!!! “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no them.…And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” Matthew 25:1-3, 10 (KJV) It was customary in Jewish culture at times for a bridegroom to go to visit his bride’s house late at night. Accompanied by his friends, he went to meet her. While expecting her bridegroom, the bride, along with her bridesmaids would light lamps and go out to meet him to light his way and bring him in with ceremony and formal celebration. While it appears that Jesus is delayed in His return. It’s not a delay. His return is set for an appointed time. We must wait in expectancy, excitement, and readiness. The darker it gets in the world, the brighter our lights must shine for the Lord. This is not the time to faint and it’s definitely not the time to stay offended with anyone. Be determined to walk in love. Keep your light burning and your hunger for God increasing. Be determined to be a witness to anyone God sends your way. It is incredibly wise for us to adjust our hearts, our attitudes, and our lives to God’s way rather than stubbornly choosing our own way in this time. Stay expecting, stay excited, and stay awake and stay ready. As with any bride, let it bless you to hear, “It’s almost time!” Prayer: Father, My heart is jumping and dancing! I love You and I can’t wait to You face to face. I choose to let my light shine bright and fulfill Your call on my life. I am determined Lord to be wise. Help me stay expecting, excited, awake and ready. In Jesus name, Amen. (Read Matthew 25:1-13)
