ITS GREAT TO BE PRAYING FOR PEOPLE TO BE A PART OF YOUR TEAM...but always remember that prayer DOES NOT guaranteed you that you have the right people teaming up with you. People may come in the beginning to be with you, but through many disappointment and unmet expectations their hearts will turn against you. People must continue to make right choices. Jesus prayed before he picked his 12 disciples who became his friends, yet ONE BECAME a traitor. There is always that possibility that when people came to you they were loyal, and when things doesnt seem to go their way, the heart starts to change...Jesus after spending a day and an overnight in the mountainside to pray, he came back and called his disciples to him and picked 12 of them to be with him. He designated them as apostles. It didn’t say who they were before that time, and what they have achieved, or what made Jesus designated them we do not know. We know later who they were. They were tax collectors, fishermen, and a bunch zealots…Zealots are religious fanaticals. One of the fellow became a traitor. I often think about how people are designated. Whenever there is a problem in ministry, someone will pop the question, did you pray about them before you ask them to be a part of the ministry? People have good intentions however as I looked here, Jesus prayed and asked people, but even in his group was someone who will betray him. Praying for people to be a part of your team does not rule out that there will be some of them who will turn their hearts against you. Judas BECAME a traitor. He was not when Jesus asked him to be a part of the team. We become something different when things are happening in the ministry that does not match up with your expectations. When Jesus asked Judas, he must have known something about him but yet asked him to be a part. Jesus still gave him a chance to be a part of the team. However, Jesus is not responsible for Judas decision and reaction about things in the ministry that didn’t line up with his expectation. That is a personal choice. Judas BECAME a traitor. It looks like he wasn’t before. We will all be given a chance to be a part of a something. I learned today to check your motivation and expectations and make sure your heart is in the right place. Be careful whom to listen to that fuel the fire of dissatisfaction. Judas had a responsibility in the team. He was the money man. This is another thing to be careful about…Position is a dangerous thing when the heart is not right. We can think that we are somebody now and I can do just whatever I want to do…Guard your heart of unhealthy and unmet expectations. How do you become a traitor? When your expectations is not met with what you PERCEIVED of how things should be…This is a great reminder for all of us. Remember, just because you spend time praying about people, that people won’t change on you. People still has to make individual choices when they are tested in their loyalty and what they are supposed to do. Prayers does not guaranteed you that people will always whom they seems to be. Keep praying for one another so that we will NOT fall in time of temptation…I need this today…(Luke 6:12—16)
