ITS NOW OFFICIAL: Three days ago my youngest son (25 years old) took me to lunch and told me that hes planning a move. Its now official. On August 29 he will be venturing out and making a new life for himself by moving to the architectural mecca known as Chicago. Ive had a gut feeling about this for months, because Ive known he was longing for change. After catching glimpses of his face in photographs from a recent business trip he took to the Windy City, my fatherly intuition kicked in. Ive had so many emotions flooding my mind, heart and soul the past several days: Dislike, anger, anxiety, weariness, sadness, and stress. Finally, after much prayer and songs from the band Chicago blasting in my headphones, Ive become less nervous. Im more at ease. And I am very happy for Kale! Hes a brave young man; I respect his courage. I know hell make many new friends and will excel wherever this journey takes him. I keep telling myself that 5 years down the road, this will only be a tiny blip on the radar screen of life. Ha! A 10 hour and 20 minute drive will be between us. By plane, its only a little over an hour. Lord help me. But most of all, loving God of all mercy and grace be with my son, Kale! May he find peace. I love you Kale Weston Green. vimeo/100224814
