IT’S BUFFALOES VS ASSEMBLY. The Finals for the PACRA (Patents and Companies Registration Agency) sponsored FAZ Women’s Football tournament will take place this morning at NAPSA club in Lusaka. The finals will see two Lusaka giants, Green Buffaloes clashing with town mates, National Assembly at 14:00 hours. PACRA has sponsored the tournament to the tune of K70, 000. The finals will be preceded by the third and fourth place play off which will see another Lusaka affair involving Bauleni and Chibolya Queens, starting at 11:30 hours. Yesterday the tournament saw five teams being eliminated in the pre and quarter final stages played at the Bank of Zambia, Show grounds and BP Sport Complexes. Perhaps the team to watch was Bauleni who silenced BSA by nine goals to nil. Bauleni scored through “Shepolopolo” international Helen Mubanga who scored three goals, Barbara Banda who scored five and Mary Mwakapila who converted one from the penalty spot. In another match, Green Buffaloes( in green & white) beat their perennial rivals; Red Arrows by three goals to two in a tightly contested game that saw “Shepolopolo” Senior team Captain, Kabange Mupopo contributing a goal for the Zambia Army sponsored side. Cynthia Mwale and Memory Phiri scored a goal each for the Women Buffaloes side. Red Arrows’ goals came from Helen Kaleo and Maggie Belemu.(in red) National Assembly had earlier in the day defeated Garden Islamic Center by three goals to nil.
