IVE ALWAYS LOVED BACON The long kept secret concerning Sir Francis Bacon, the inventor of modern science is that he was not the son of my ancestor, Sir Nicholas Bacon, who raised him as his own son. His step-mother, Lady Anne Cooke Bacon, loved him and assisted him her whole life. She herself was highly educated and the tutor to young King Edward as a child. Bacon was the secret son of Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley. He is also the reputed author of Shakespeare’s works and the man who buried the treasure on Oak Island. As a devout Christian, Sir Francis Bacon labeled atheists as poorly educated and shallow thinkers, if thinkers at all. “A little philosophy inclineth man’s mind to atheism,” he quipped, “but depth of philosophy bringeth a man’s mind about to religion.” His philosophy and writings were largely responsible for igniting the scientific revolution in the 17th century. But this “new philosophy” was really nothing new; it was a return to the principles of the Bible. The “founder of modern science” was a Bible-believing Christian, and Christian doctrine was the foundation of his thinking. The “new philosophy” of Bacon emphasized empiricism and induction. Bacon who was denied a shot at the throne as a Prince of England lived his life as the Son of God. Photos: Sir Francis Bacon. 2. Sir Nicholas Bacon
