IWEF Final Declaration The final declaration of 1st International Women Entrepreneurs Forum, which was held with participation of 108 foreign women entrepreneurs from 78 different countries and 200 businesswomen from Turkey, was issued. The forum which took place between 2-3 May, 2013 under the auspices of Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Family and Social Policies and with the support of TIM (Turkish Exporters Assembly), was established as a social and economical interacting network. The forum was mainly organized in order to form unity between women entrepreneurs, strengthen women’s status within the business world, contribute to business cooperation and trade, by forming social interaction among businesswomen. With the participation of CEO’s, ministers and businessman & women, more comprehensive results were achieved and suggestions were raised. "We hope that gender equality in terms of reaching sources and using them efficiently will be achieved and that this will contribute to a society in which women will achieve their rightful place in social, cultural, economic areas as men do. Mechanisms supporting women entering labor force market, enabling their qualitative improvement and increasing the value of their effort as labor are necessary for women to work at prestigious professions dealing with decision making and having higher responsibilities." was said and the joint declaration issued: • It is imperative that any type of discrimination against women has to be changed including negative cultural attitude and implementations. Any approach reforming to discrimination against women, negative cultural attitude and implementations must be extended. • The levels of education and technical training must be improved by special arrangements and implementations for women in education, skills development and training areas. • In order to raise awareness and enable women to be visible in every part of society “innovation centers for women” must be established for consultancy and training purposes in social, cultural, economical, educational and health issues. • It is needed to be simplified for women to reach resources, employment, markets and trade by positive discrimination and entrepreneurship must be increased by new legal regulations. • Network among women entrepreneurs that participated IWEF must be empowered and used more effectively for both social and economical terms. • IWEF must become a traditional event that is organized in different countries each year. • IWEF should become a traditional event by being held at different countries annually.
