Iain Macwhirter has written a masterpiece in The Herald today. Iain and I are obviously singing from the same hymn sheet. I am aware that not everyone buys The Herald and that not everyone subscribes to the online edition, but this is a definite “must read”. I have uploaded a PDF copy of the article for you to read in the Files area of our Facebook page, but here are some highlights: “Ruth Davidson told the Conservative Party conference that ‘devo max is a non-starter’, even though most Scots thought that was what they were voting for.” “The Daily Records Vow does not specify which taxes or powers are to be devolved, only a mechanism and a timetable for their delivery.” “Gordon Brown repeatedly used the F-word [Federal] when he promised ‘the nearest to federalism that is possible in a country where 85 per cent of the population live in one part of it’. He also called publicly for home rule. Now we are being told he did not really mean either.”
