Starring gay actors Ian McKellen and Ellen Page, the superhero film is a follow up to 2011’s prequel X-Men: First Class. It will unite the cast of the original trilogy with the newer stars like James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Nicholas Hoult are also among the other returning cast members. It will be Page’s first film to be released after she came out in a heartfelt speech in February this year. The film will see the mutants fighting for the survival of the human race across two time periods. The original trilogy’s characters will join forces with their younger selves in order to change their pasts and stop an apocalyptic future. It is based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s acclaimed 1980s comic book run. X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released on 22 May. If youre in the US, click here to view the trailer.
