Iblees, most commonly referred to as Shaitaan, is one of the greatest enemies of mankind. He is not only a great obstacle in mans path towards eternal bliss and salvation but is also known to be the root cause of all evil and moral corruption in human society. The following verses from the Holy Quran clearly illustrate this fact;↓↓ O you who believe, do not follow in the footsteps of Shaitaan, for he who follows in footsteps of Shaitaan, then he enjoins (on him) filth and evil. Had it not been for the grace of Allah and His mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been clean, but Allah cleans one whom He pleases. Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing. (AN-NUR/21) He (Shaitaan) makes (false) promises, and stirs up (vain) desires in them; and Shaitaan promises nothing but deception. (AN-NISA/120) Verily those who turn their backs after the guidance has become manifest to them. Shaitaan has beguiled them and given them false hopes. (MUHAMMAD/25) In order to safeguard oneself, it. is always wise for man to recognise his enemies particularly those who pose great threats. The Holy Quran has in many verses forewarned us of our greatest enemy Shaitaan. Verily Shaitaan is your enemy, so hold him as a foe. He only invites his party so that they may become the dwellers of the flaming fire. (AL-FATIA/6) Did I not enjoin on you O children of Adam that you should not worship Shaitaan. Verify he is your avowed enemy. And that you should worship Me? This is the right path. (YASEEN/60-61)
