Ice bucket challenge in chilling winter! Over 30 people from home and abroad took the ice bucket challenge on Saturday in Zhangjiajie, central #Chinas Hunan Province, where temperatures hit below zero degrees Celsius. The challengers, clad in swimsuits, had to receive at least 6 buckets of ice water while standing in a box full of ice cubes. If that was not crazy enough, the winners moved on to the even crazier next round. Six finalists joined the second round of competition on Sunday when they were placed in pools filled with ice blocks. The ultimate winner was decided by whoever could stay the longest in the icy pool. The competition may be merely for fun and a way to challenge extremes of the human body, but it follows the rules of the #ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) #IceBucketChallenge that has been all the rage since last summer. The Ice Bucket Challenge has had tens of thousands of people around the world dump buckets of freezing ice over their heads, in order to promote awareness for the ALS disease. It helped raise donations of over $100 million last year.
