Icicles course through my veins this morning. Eventually I found - TopicsExpress

Icicles course through my veins this morning. Eventually I found my brother in the forest last night. Pale moonlight crept through the pine trees branches and silvered Finnrods sword blade. My brother has a sword? He has kept this secret. And here he is getting attacked by a stranger! I rush across the snowy clearing, my skirts drag heavily in the frosty snow. Finnrod, beware!, I cry loudly. Surprised he twirls around, and the tall stranger almost take his head off. I throw myself between my beloved brother and the fell attacker. The stranger looms above me, his dark shadow swallows me whole. Then Finnrod laughs (laughs??? Does he not have any sense of danger?) and lowers his sword. Firiel, one day curiosity will kill the cat. He pulls me back. and I look up into his face. His eyes are dark-blue like the midnight sky, and they twinkle like the beloved stars far above us. Sister, why did you follow me? I glare at him and then the attacker who follows our exchange with great interest and lowered sword. Raise your sword, brother! Defend yourself from this evil creature. Evil creature?, the stranger speaks for the first time. His voice is deep and smooth as the molten metal in my fathers forge. Finnrod takes my hand and pulls me towards the older man Berin, this is my sister, Firiel. And this is how I met Berin son of Berendt, the Swann Knight of Dol Amroth. My brother would not tell me why he and Berin practiced with their swords so secretly and at such a late hour. Finnrod merely took me home, we endured Fathers wrath in stoic silence and went to bed hungry. Now I am at the stove, stirring oatmeal for our much needed breakfast and try to squash this feeling which is coursing through me like fiery needles... My fate and Berins will be bound together, for better or worse, I have no idea.
