Id been looking at buying another car and had test drove it today and talked to mom about it briefly and she mustve told dad about it because as soon as I walked in to dads new room at the hospital he said Well , Anthony we need to talk about this car I knew my daddys back Hes not 100 % but he was making sense and was the most coherent by far than he has been , he wasnt paranoid and far less delusional - he took his pills and swallowed them on his own , told the nurse how granddaddy taught him to swallow pills when he was a young by telling him that he could either swallow the capsule whole or open it and then take it - which he did - he said after that he never had a problem swallowing a pill ever again ! When the nurse came to give him his shot ( in his stomach - ouch ) he jokingly said OH, boy ! just what Ive been waiting on ! He was amicable , talkative and the most lucid he has been thus far - hes still out of it at times , for instance he was talking to the nurse when he gestured and turned towards me and asked her now whos this fellow ? Is this your husband ? talking about me ! LOL - I said now come on - you know who I am dont you ? I leaned forward and he laughed at himself and said , Oh Im sorry , I dont know what I was thinking - your , your Anthony I said there you go ! To me , him, laughingly correcting himself and realizing who I am in that instance was more important than the fact seconds earlier hed mistook me - hes getting there - one day at a time - and today I couldnt be any happier because hes one step closer to becoming his old self again!
