Id hoped that this was a vicious rumor, but I have it from a very reliable source that the current majority on Simpsonvilles City Council, as well as the current chief of police and one of the city judges plan to turn the Simpsonville School in to a mini law enforcement center, with a court room, offices and a detention center. It is currently being used to house a local history museum, for concerts, volleyball games and a variety of other cultural activities. Did you, your children, your grandchildren, your parents or grandparents ever stand on that stage, play basketball in that gym, or write on those blackboards, either as teacher or student? This building is an invaluable part of our heritage, and we must work to preserve our history, as well as continue to promote the arts and athletics in our community.
