Id just like to give a big thanks to everyone that came out this year, and also to the incredible volunteers that put together this years game. Working with Gameplay, Media, and Mods during and before the game was fantastic. Definitely, seeing the spaceship wreckage and the cosmonaut on Night 1 sealed the deal as one of the most magical moments of HvZ for me, and Im so glad to have been able to help bring that and all those other experiences to this years players. That said, players especially, I couldnt have asked for a more enjoyable game, both the horde players that I got to know, and the humans I fought alongside, whether this was your first year or your last. This EXPERIENCE is life changing in every way, and I cant wait to continue working on this game for next year :) Some shoutouts: (I ran outta folks to tag, sorry) Paul, who did a thankless job leading us as we put together the missions for this years game, and also stepped up to assist with some of moderation and revise missions each day to fit with the ever changing flow of the game. Kendall and Sam, who I spent a year working with and getting to know alongside Paul, all three of which devoted several weekends and nights and a good chunk of our summer into creating the game we have now. All the work, VOLUNTEER work, that these three put in was astounding. Jake, Ethan, Dandy, Tor, Brianna, Dylan, and Jon, who all did a great job acting both as the face of this years game, and busting their tails making the game feel real, Brianna especially, who completely blew my mind with her work, and who realized so many things that had only been words on a page a month ago. Ethan as well, who joined up for Space Robots and essentially Mod Squad, despite having zero obligation to, and spending his time helping when he couldve spent it enjoying the game for himself. My awesome friends at Mod Squad, who worked to smooth over some serious concerns and troopered on through the complaints, concerns, and mistakes of this years game. Christos, Allison, Caroline, Abby, Tiffany, Brady, Chloe, Shannon, Oren, and so many other mods that poured time into this game fighting for Mod Squad and solving some serious problems, as well as being a group to kick back with and make light of a very stressful game. You guys made my day so many times. To all the zombies I fought, who were incredibly courteous and thoughtful, polite, and overall good sports. To the humans I fought with during our final stand, who bravely stood next to Mod Squad in the thick of combat, despite having only one life to give. To Kristina, who from what I hear, may go down as one of the best OZs of all time, and who rallied the zombies with awe-inspiring organization and leadership, and made the game worth playing. And finally, Id like to thank all of the new players that dipped their toes in to feel the water this year, and all the vets that come back for more. Be it Freshmen or Seniors, I was so glad to help share this incredible experience with you, and you are the lifeblood of this game, the force that drives guys like me and so many others like those I mention above to work so hard creating this game every year, what drives so many to exclaim our passion for the game every year, and what brings back graduated alumni year after year from places as far as California and Florida to play this game for just one weekend every year. Because this isnt just a game, its a COMMUNITY, and Im so glad just to be a part of it. Have a good night, folks.
