Id like to castrate every technician who convinces novice users to use Thunderbird instead of Apple Mail. Imposing that preference is irresponsibly dumb. Sadly, a lot of techs think this way and instead of doing whats right for the customer they install all kinds of crap that they — geeks — want on their computers. If your customer is a geek, awesome. If theres some VERY specific reason to impose something like this upon a novice user, fine, but installing oddball third-party software for the nebulous reason of its better is idiotic. Now nothing syncs for that user, and any time they call someone for support they get the, why the hell are you using Thunderbird? answer.
