Id like to do something I typically dont do. Could everyone take a moment to say a little prayer for our baby boy, Link, please? We laid him down for a nap today looking completely normal, and when he woke up he had very unusual clusters of blisters and ulcers on multiple areas of his body. I immediately called his doctor (it was around 3), and there was no one available for the last 2 hours of the day so they suggested we take him somewhere else. The first dr that looked at him actually said whoa when she saw the worst areas. Then she proceeded to tell me she had never seen anything like it before and left to get another drs opinion. This one thought it was shingles, but decided to bring in a 3rd. After 3 hours and 3 doctors all I had heard was Its presenting like hand, foot and mouth disease, but thats not what it is, it could have been a bad reaction to strep, but the rapid test was negative, definitely looks like shingles (but its not that either), reminds me of a severe case of chicken pox (also negative here). No answers, yet we were released and told to get with his PCP first thing Monday. It is just getting worse with time. Thankfully, it doesnt seem to be bothering him at all. They sent off some samples to be tested for less common illnesses and I should be getting a call back about those next week. I really believe he will be fine, but in my experience, prayers only help.
